Frequently Asked Questions
How do I wash my weighted blanket?
We recommend spot cleaning for minor stains and spills using a mild detergent and cold water. For a full wash, please check the care label—most of our weighted blankets come with a removable cover that can be machine washed separately on a gentle cycle with cold water. Avoid using bleach or fabric softeners, as these can damage the fabric and reduce the blanket's lifespan. Air drying is best, but if using a dryer, tumble dry on low heat.
How often should I clean my blanket?
You can wash your blanket cover as often as needed—typically every 1-2 weeks depending on use. The inner weighted layer should only be washed occasionally, every few months or when visibly soiled, to maintain its structure and performance. If your blanket comes with a cover, removing and washing only the cover is usually sufficient for regular maintenance.
Can I machine wash the entire blanket?
Yes, but with caution. Only machine wash the entire blanket if the care label confirms it's safe to do so. Weighted blankets over 7kg (15 lbs) should not be washed in a home machine, as they may damage your washer. Instead, we suggest using a commercial-size machine at a laundromat or hand washing in a large tub. Always use cold water and a gentle cycle.
Do you offer guidance for drying?
Yes, always air dry when possible to preserve the quality of your blanket. If you must use a dryer, select a low-heat setting and periodically check the blanket to prevent overheating. Never iron your weighted blanket or expose it to direct, prolonged sunlight as this may weaken the materials.
